There are four cylinder head nuts to check. With the cylinder head cover removed, three of them are visible. To gain access to the forth, the head seal cap must be removed. This is an oil-tight plug in the cylinder head, about 25 mm in diameter and is directly above the forth nut.

My oil leak problems started after checking the torque on these nuts. The washers under the cylinder these nuts are actually called gaskets on the Suzuki part list. I ended up coating these washers with sealent to stop the leaks. The head seal cap must also be coated with sealant to stop leaks here.

I agree with you - it doesn't seem likly that dealers do this job. I only do it because it's part of the service schedule. Perhaps I would have had a blown head gasket if I hadn't done it.
